A stylish sanctuary in the shopping district of Barcelona, Gran Derby Hotel is an arty boutique hotel within walking distance of the city centre and Avenida Diagonal. Original modern works of art by a number of great artists are on display throughout the hotel. There is a clever mix of contemporary and traditional styling. Black and white tiled floors, chaise longues and shiny tables blend with elegant chairs upholstered in funky fabrics sporting big spots or animal prints. Rooms have two differentiated areas; each has a rest area and a leisure or work area. The hotel offers Mediterranean cuisine in the coffee shop and restaurant TheTimes. Take note of the pictures on the walls, there is a good chance you are looking at an original Dali or Picasso.

The hotel was opened in 1980 and rennovated in 2009.
