The Axel, a new hotel concept, urban and cosmopolitan, carefully designed and directed to the gay public (heterofriendly).
Located in the center of Barcelona, in the very heart of the Gayxample (Gay District), raises the Axel. The hotel has been constructed in a late 19th Century remodelled building, maintaining its original facade and spectacular acid glass windows from the first part of the modern era. Its interior spaces, totally reformed, have been carefully treated so that comfort and design merge in a cosmopolitan, urban ambience. Vitra furniture. Kartell and Swan, Kenzo material, mosaic floors and Emilio Leukona??s light boxes are part of the exclusive Axel universe.
The hotel offers 66 bedrooms, including 10 Superior Rooms and the Axel Suite, each and one of them has its own personality and has been carefully designed to satisfy the most demanding guest. All the rooms at the Axel are soundproof, air conditioned, comfortable and luminous. You will enjoy the advantages of king size beds, four pillows, hidro-massage bath (Superior Rooms and Suite), flat screen TV with internet, video on command with 20 choices of movies, safe-box, bath amenities and room-service.
Anticipating the needs of our guests, The Axel offers the following services: restaurant, cocktail bar, chill-out area, meeting room up to one hundred people, library, La Boutique del Hotel, and The Axel terrace, with spectacular views over the Mediterranean city, including fitness center, pool, solarium, sauna, hammam, jacuzzi and The Sky Bar.
