The Maritim hotel is a perfect starting point with many of the cities attractions easily reachable from here on foot. The Kunst and Kulturforum next door to the Maritim Hotel is a museum complex of European art collections consisting of the Picture Gallery, the Art Library, the Arts and Crafts Museum, the Museum of Prints and Drawings and the New Research Gallery.
The Kulturforum also houses the Philharmonic Concert Hall, the City Library and the state Institute for Music Research and a museum of musical instruments.
