The International is an attractive stone built Victorian terrace house conveniently situated 1 1/2 miles south of Princes Street on the main A701 and only 4 miles from Straiton Junction on the Edinburgh City By-pass. Lying on a main bus route, access to the City is easy. The decor is outstanding, with ornate plasterwork in the ceilings as fine as in The New Town. All bedrooms have en-suite facilities, colour TV, tea/coffee makers and direct dial telephone. Some rooms enjoy magnificent views across to the extinct volcano of Arthurs Seat. Room types are flexible as double/twin rooms can also be used as a triple room. The full Scottish breakfasts served on the finest bone china are a delight. | How to get: |
From South M6/A74 From the A74 take the A701 and follow the signs for Edinburgh. After 50 miles , you will see 'International Guest House' on the right. From South M1. Take the A68 from Scotch Corner, through Jedburgh and Dalkeith. After Dalkeith the road will merge with the A7 where you follow the City Centre signs. After 2.5 miles, 4 km, bear left onto Craigmillar Park, then Mayfield Gardens. Quarter a mile further on you will see 'International Guest House' on the right. ALTERNATIVELY: Take the A1 round the coastal route and join the A720 City Bypass as you approach the city. Leave the Bypass at the first junction, Sheriffhall Roundabout, and join the A7 signposted Edinburgh where it merges with the A68. Then as above. From Glasgow The M8 Motorway now terminates at a roundabout known as the 'Edinburgh Interchange'. On the roundabout take the third exit signposted 'Edinburgh South & East' and join the A720 City Bypass. Continue on the bypass until Straiton junction. |
