It was built as an Augustinian convent and the interior still has traces of an antique medieval tower that was destroyed by Ghibellini in 1260. The hotel is in the heart of the city facing the Ponte Vecchio and next to the Uffizi Gallery. Within walking distance are many shops and museums. The hotel is wellknown for its beautiful rooms and magnificent views over Ponte Vecchio. The hotel has 42 carefully restored rooms with private facilities. They are furnished in Florentine style and have beautiful marble bathrooms- minibar- airconditioning- heating- SatTV- safe- phone- desk- bathrobe- slippers- hairdryer. The rooms are divided into Classic- Executive and Jr Suites. Some rooms boast a beautiful view. The breakfast room- once a 19th Century Ballroom- serves American buffet breakfast and has a view of the River Arno and Via dei Georgofili. There is a panoramic bar with a terrace and roof garden overlooking the Duomo and Palazzo Vecchio. This is the perfect place to sit back and relax. This is a luxury hotel with 1st class service which begins with a delicious breakfast. The hotel offers internet service for a small charge on the 2nd floor library. A private indoor garage including valet service is available. This is located 300m from the hotel and is available at a charge. A City Tax on per person per night basis will be charged which is not included in the total room price and which must be paid in cash at checkout. Additional Information- Children aged 3 and under stay free in the room with parents and in existing bedding. Children between 3 and 12 years receive a 50pct reduction when sharing with two adults. This applies to the executive room and junior suite only with extra bed and is on request and subject to availability. Children over this age will be considered an adult.
