Hotel Prindsen in the main street Algade in the kings town Roskilde has more than 300 years tradition for receiving guests; Hans Christian Andersen and Holger Drachmann stayed here several times and in the Danish author Gustav Wieds Livsens Ondskab you may relive the vibrating atmosphere when the good and respectable citizens of the town went dancing in the large ball room of the hotel with its six gilded mirrors.
It is no coincidence that the hotel has a Gustav Wied Room- a Holger Drachmann Salon and a Lise Noergaard Salon. The pride of the hotel is the big ballroom Guldaldersalen - the Golden Age Room which under supervision of the Danish National Museum has now been restored as it originally was in 1876. The room is not only a marvel of beauty as a ballroom but it is also an example proving that a sparkling beautiful classic room may be combined with the modern technology required by meetings and conferences of the present day.
More than 300 years history as a hotel obviously puts you under an obligation.
