A temporary home in the centre of Stockholm while travelling, in the special ambiance of a refurbished town house from 1866. Distinct colours and a friendly environment. Simplicity in many ways. Rex Hotel is a concept in itself. The old building dates from 1866, just a block away from Sveavägen, right in the middle of Stockholm. The atmosphere of the 19th century is still to be witnessed in the old, brick-vaults in the basement and in the staircase. Otherwise it is only the broad pine tree planks on the wooden floor that reveals the building's old age. Rex Hotel is situated at Luntmakargatan 73, a block away from the underground station of Radmansgatan and about 40 kilometers from Arlanda Airport. The Area is the centre for much of Stockholm's media and music industry. Here you can find Channel 5, Utbildningsradion (Sweden's Education Radio and TV Corporation), several record companies and advertising agencies, web development agencies and photographic studios. There are about 50 restaurants within convenient walking distance from the hotel. They cater to all tastes from traditional Swedish, Italian and French to Asian, Latin American, Lebanese and Iranian cuisine. |
