Romantic Blue Haven was idyllic scenery of several golden movies in the 1950s. Splendidly renovated while retaining its retro-charm Blue Haven combines the ambience if the old days with modern living. If former guests like Robert Mitchum and Rita Hayworth were to visit today, they find the same now century-old palms lining the driveway, remnants of an old fortress with cannons, the same coral pink 50s facade and the original octagonal lobby topped by a dome opening onto a broad terrace surrounded by lush tropical vegetation and the azure blue sea. Enjoy your vacation in paradise spiced with true Caribbean island life laid back, relaxed, no problem. In December 2000, the hotel was re-opened after an extensive renovation programme combining the restored tradition of the old days with modern facilities. Its skillfully planned architecture pays special attention to the surrounding natures loveliness and environmental issues. Vacation in paradise. Immediately after entering the hotel site through the almost 100-year old palm alley the lush tropical vegetation and azure Blue Ocean gives everybody a specific island feeling. The Blue Haven vacation begins with a warm welcome and a chilled tropical fruit/rum punch as guests check in. Breakfast Is served in the restaurant Shutters On the Bay overlooking. Barbeque on the beach for lunch. At dusk guests can enjoy cocktails in the lounge/terrace bar and watching the sun set before moving on to dinner with West Indian ingredients and spices. In between relax by the pool or take a swim at the hotes secluded beach, where according to Daniel Defoe, Robinson Crusoe was stranded on the 30th of September 1659.
