| Troyan Monastery............................8 km Troyan Monastery is the third largest monastery in Bulgaria after the Rila and the Bachkovo monasteries.It is undoubtedly the main historical and cultural attraction of the whole region.It is situated on the bank of the Cherni Ossam River.It was estabilished in 16-th century and its architecture,wood-carvings and incredible frescoes are a real masterpiece, painted by Zahary Zograf-one of Bulgaria's most famous mural painters of the Revival period.During the 19 th century the monastery was a famous literaly and revolutionary centre.A great treasure of the Troyan monastery is the miraculous icon of the three-handed Holy Virgin. Beklemeto area.............................25 km Beklemeto is a mountain resort centre near the Troyan Pass-1320 m.above sea level.The resort offers excellent facilities for winter tourism. Snow cover holds about 170 days in the year. It is a starting point for various hiking routes along the Troyan part of the Balkan mountain. Kozya Stena reserve area....................30 km Shipkovo Spa Resort.........................8 km Cherni Ossum village Museum of Natural History................15 km Oreshak village Museum of Crafts................................8 km. The natinal Fair and Exhibition of Folk Artistic Crafts in the village of Oreshak is the only one of its kind in Bulgaria.
