Not only has the honor of being Nenices oldest hotel - but also holds one of the finest and enviable locations in town - in the the heart of Venice just a few steps from Piazza San Marco - overlooking the basin and the island of San Giorgio.
This aristocratic hotel has a rich history - beginning in the 12th century when it was shelter for the Knights Templar. By the 16th century the hotel was well established as the -Locanda of the Luna- then was further enhanced in the 18th century when the sumptuous Marco Polo lounge was embellished with stunning frescoes from Gianbattista Tiepolos School.
From the moment you enter into the spacious reception hall - you can not help being awed by the magnificence of the soaring ceilings / huge chandeliers / antique furniture / fresh flowers / and fine oil paintings.
Each public room is outstanding - from the ornately imposing lobby with its splendid Oriental carpet to the serenely attractive Canova Restaurant - renowned for its fine cuisine / attentive service and relaxing atmosphere.
Nothing can surpass the elegance of the Marco Polo room with its enormous paintings / beautiful mirrors / soft lighting and massive murano glass chandeliers hanging from the sensational frescoed ceiling. A beautiful buffet breakfast is served here each morning. It is the most splendid place in Venice to have breakfast.
All 108 guestrooms and suites are splendidly decorated with period-style furnishings / silk fabrics / hand blown Venetian chandeliers / marbled bathrooms and precious objects d art. * A1S - Presidential Suite is a deluxe accommodation, one of the most requested of hotel, with antique pieces of eighteen century furniture and carpets of high value. It is located on the fifth floor in a very quiet position. It has a sitting room on the first level, with precious decors and objects d'art. On the higher level there is a nice bedroom and two bathrooms each with a Jacuzzi bath tube, and a wardrobe. Size in square meters (room and bathroom): approximately 70. The distinguishing feature of the room is a large wooden terrace "altana" overlooking the Lagoon and the Venetian roofs.
* B1S - Grand Lagoon 1 Bedroom Suite, with 2 twin beds or one double bed, richly decorated and magnificently appointed with silk fabrics, fine drapery objects d'art.
