Hinton is the gateway to Jasper National Park in the Alberta Rockies and is located approximately 280 km west of Edmonton. As well as being a service and supply town for the mountain resorts, Hinton has developed its own tourism industry and is known for offering access to a multitude of recreational opportunities. In the summer, visitors to Hinton can enjoy endless ATV trails or explore the lush Alberta wilderness on a hike or trail ride in the Brule Sand Dunes. Visitors can also head to Miette Hot Springs and soak up the fresh mountain air while relaxing amidst the warmest waters in the Canadian Rockies. Check-in time is 3pm and check-out time is 11am. Guest must be 18 years of age or older at time of reservation. Please notify the office at 1-780-817-2000 during office hours. Affectionately known as the Gateway to the Rockies, the superb location of the area lends itself to stunning scenery and an abundance of activities. Hinton has excellent hunting, fishing and other summer adventures as well as a wide range of winter activities including cross-country skiing.
