The 3 star Esquilino Hotel has been in existence since 1920 and was one of the first hotels in Rome. It is situated in a XIX century palace built by the Aragona family which was the residence of Prince Parini. It is located in front of the steps of the Santa Maria Maggiore Basilica one of Romes four basilicas. From some of the rooms there is a view over the majestic square; which boasts an Egyptian Obelisk placed there by Sisto V during the 1500 Jubilee. Hotel Esquilino is situated in the heart of Rome of Caesars and within walking distance from the Coliseum and the Imperial Fora; but also in the heart of Rome of Popes; with the Trevi Fountain; the Spanish Steps; the Presidential Palace and Saint Johns Church. All the rooms are very spacious; light and soundproofed with Venetian antique style furniture. They all have en suite private bathrooms with bath or shower and are fitted with comfortable beds; hairdryer; mini bar; safe; direct dial telephone; cable and Sat TV and heating and air conditioning.
