About Monasterium Poortackere
No imposing entrance nor red carpet. Located on "Oude Houtlei", a modest fai??ade disguises the inner oasis of our medieval cloister: PoortAckere. Throughout history the monastery provided shelter for old and sick, nuns (1278) and orphans. The medieval cloister developed into an eclectic style of architecture, which now lodges up to 113 persons. City tax (i??2.50 pp. /night)
