The Coast Bastion Inn is five minutes from Departure Bay and Dukes Point where regularly scheduled BC Ferries leave Nanaimo for sailings to Vancouver. The city airport is a 20 minute drive and harbour to harbour flights from Vancouver dock at the Seaplane Terminal across from the hotel. Nanaimo also serves as the gateway to Northern Vancouver Island and several Gulf Islands including Gabriola and Salt Spring.
