Borgo Il Melone dates back to the beginning of the 19th century when it was a property of the Mancinis a noble family from Cortona who still owns the entire set of buildings. The Mancini family boasts a wide family tree that includes Girolamo Mancini scholar man of letters and patriot who followed Garibaldi in 1860 and 1866.

When you arrive at Borgo Il Melone you will behold a vast stretch of bright green fields with an area of almost 9 acres partially covered by lively patches of flowers ranging from the deep red of rose beds to the delicate purple of lavender shrubs and the dark green of rosemary bushes spreading a lovely scent.
