About Domu'e Luna
Completely renovated using local materials, and furnished according to the traditional Marmillan style, Domu'e Luna combines a charming setting and warm rural hospitality with modern amenities. This is, in fact, a type of hospitality, which proposes the types of environments and rhythms of rural life, which are typical to the Marmilla area. The structure is composed of a large, welcoming lounge area full of light and equipped with TV and the possibility of Internet access; there is a very large garden and the bedrooms (one of which is suitable for the disabled) have en-suite bathroom, heating and air conditioning. The multilingual staff will be on-hand to offer their services and will do their utmost to ensure that you have a pleasant and inspiring stay.
Domu'e Luna is situated in the hilly town of Lunamatrona; an ideal holiday destination for those wishing to discover the delights of the Marmilla region, including the area s museum, the plateau known as the Giara di Gesturi, the Nuraghe of Barumini, the Castle of Sanluri and the Archaeological Museum of Sardara. Marmilla preserves an untouched historical and traditional heritage, enhanced by the charming scenery of its smooth, hilly landscape. During the pre-Nuragic period, numerous villages and tombs, were built all over the area. The oldest, the "domus de janas" di Scaba 'e arrubia di Siddi dates back to the Recent Neolithic, 4000 to 3200 B. C.. One particularly attraction is the Parish Church of S. Giovanni Battista (XVI century), which stands majestically in the centre of the town. It was built in late Gothic style and later modified in Baroque style in the XVIII and XIX century.
