About Masseria Torre Maizza Savelletri
The 5 star Torre Maizza farm is located in the middle of a large hillside estate 2km from the coast overlooking the Mediterranean. The ancient farm is set in a grove of age old olive trees where guests can enjoy strolls through our orchards; vineyards; fields and crops and where the air is scented with heady myrtle and delicate jasmine that together create the estates typical Mediterranean fragrance. Torre Maizza is an ancient garrison; part of a defense line that crossed all Apulia; from Gargano promontory to finibus terrae; as Santa Maria di Leuca was called. During the 16th century Torre Maizza used to be a watchtower against the raids of Ottoman and Saracen Turks. Later on it became a working farm with a little village. One can still recognize the old Mill; the houses for the farm workers and courtyards which were used to tend the animals. Now Torre Maizza has been converted into a refined; luxury 5 star resort. The local traditional hospitality which once was extended to pilgrims and Benedictine monks is now offered to all guests. All rooms are typical farmhouse rooms with whitewashed limestone walls and arched ceilings. They are all equipped with a mini bar; a desk; WiFi; Sat TV; a radio; a safe; air conditioning; king size beds and a bathroom with hairdryer. Parking is available at the hotel free of charge. Additional Information: Children age 2 and under stay free in the room with parents and in existing bedding. Children age 3-12 pay 80 Euros when sharing with an adult. Children over this age will be considered an adult. Other Child Policy Information: No children less than 10 years old allowed in August. The hotel reserves the right to without prior notification cancel any reservation with an invalid or incomplete credit card number.
