The 4 star Novecento Hotel is a small charming 4-star hotel created from the restoration of an antique noble palace built in the 900s. The hotel is pleasantly located in the heart of one of the late Baroque towns of the Val di Noto; Scicli. The rooms are a successful combination of modern and ancient styles obtained using some pieces of the buildings original decor and Le Corbusier armchairs. The rooms are designed in a way that combines different styles of the 20th century from Liberty to the great Bauhaus. Through careful planning the original position of the rooms has been preserved and they are typical of the end of the 19th century with vaulted ceilings covered with early 20th century paintings. The use of stone walls underlines the link between the hotel and local tradition; while the materials used inside the rooms have a modern trend; gres; glass Bisazza mosaic and boiserie in oak wood for the bathrooms. The walls of the rooms have been enriched with valuable works of art belonging to the Scicli Group; Guccione; Sarnari; Polizzi; Candiano; that portray the 20th century through paintings and sculpture. The hotel is located in the heart of Scicli; one of the late Baroque towns built on the slopes of a valley called the Val di Noto. Scicli was put on the World Heritage list by the Heritage Committee of UNESCO in 2002.
