The 5 Star Grand Hotel Ortigia is situated on the island of Ortigia; from which it takes its name and is surrounded by the deep blue Mediterranean Sea. It is a stones throw from the Fonte Aretusa; where it is said that the Goddess Diana saved the young Aretusa from the advances of the God Alfeo by turning her into a well. The hotel was built at the start of the nineteenth century and it is now one hundred years old. Fully restored original architectural structure remains unchanged; as does the charm of its Liberty style. Inside the hotel; preserved in perfect condition are the Mura Spagnole and other archaeological artefacts in the Piccolo Museo. Amongst the 58 rooms you find 16 junior and deluxe suites and all are furnished in an elegant style and equipped with up to date communication items Jacuzzi baths.
