About Albergo Quattro Fontane

The charming Albergo Quattro Fontane is built on the site where, between 1573 and 1575, following the plan of Goian Antonio Rusconi and collaboration of Andrea Palladio, the patrician Daniele Pisani constructed the first and only "casino" on the Lido dedicated to the country delights and learned conversations of the Venetian aristocracy. During the 19th century this "casino" became a tavern and the noted English poet Robert Browning was one of its regular customers..."with Mr Browning to go to lido at 11,30 lunch at 4 fontane". The present owners came to the Albergo Quattro Fontane in 1954, bringing with them an important collection of furniture. Today, the hotel's 60 rooms and public space offers a splendid selection of period furniture, old paintings, and unusual objects which delight the eye and arouse the curiosity of its guest. The entire complex is surrounded by the foliage of large trees.
