This ryokan was established in 1831/ with the present building dating from a century ago. After passing through a traditional front gate and small courtyard/ you Will find yourself in one of the most charming entryways/ which adjoins a cozy parlor replete with a mix of Japanese and Western antiques.The nice public bath boasts a tub made of 400-year-old black pine.

There are numerous of must-see sights in the area of Higashiyama such as Kiyomizu-dera Temple as the pinnacle. The cobblestone path on the way to the temple is lined with charming shops filled with tasteful souvenirs.
