About Yumotokan
Yumotokan is a ryokan Japanese-style hotel located in Ohmi in Shiga Prefecture. Surrounded by mountains the hotel features onsen hot spring baths and some stunning views of Lake Biwa- the largest lake in Japan. Ogoto Onsen the local hot spring was first discovered around 1200 years ago.
In the surrounding areas you can take a trip to the the temple situated at the top of Mount Hiei or simply admire the breathtaking views which were made famous by ukiyo-e artist Utagawa Hiroshige also known as Ando Hiroshige in one of his most well-known works: 8 Views of Ohmi. At Lake Biwa you can take part in a variety of water sports such as kayaking windsurfing and jet skiing. Theme parks are also located around the lake. Free shuttle service is available from the nearest JR train stations to the hotel.
