About Velavaru Island Resort
Velavaru, opened in December 1998, is an averaged sized island by Maldivian standards and is approximately 500m in length by 200 m wide, is the second resort in the atoll. The buildings on Velavaru blend in with the thick local vegetation and coconut palms creating the relaxed environment of the Maldives. Tourism is very new to the atoll providing you with an excellent opportunity to dive at breathtaking sites where the human disturbance is almost negligible. The diving at Velavaru is an exciting experience. Velavaru, with its wide sandy beach bordered by the shimmering turquoise lagoon is the tropical island just for you.
