On the outskirts of Playa del Carmen; yet still convenient to the shops and restaurants of 5th Avenue- is a Mayan paradise- Mahekal Beach Resort. Since 1982 Mahekal Beach Resort has welcomed guests with warm and simple Yucatecan hospitality. Thatched roof resort buildings sit on alabaster-white sand with two outdoor pools and jacuzzi; dive shop and watersports; open-air massage area and two restaurants; breakfast and dinner are included daily. Our style is friendly; unique; inspirational and relaxed. The resort is divided into three sections; each with a different atmosphere-Pueblito; Caribe and Aventura. In keeping with our style; our rooms do not have televisions; telephones or radios; but each oversized room features a large balcony or patio that is outfitted with hammocks; so you may enjoy the tranquility and relaxation of this sanctuary. All rooms are air conditioned. Two restaurants; Aventura offers breakfast and lunch; La Loma is open only for dinner. Breakfast and dinner are included in the daily rate; alcohol and some beverage exceptions apply. Daily breakfast features a buffet of fresh fruit; Mexican pastries; European style meats and cheese; and finish with a cooked to order plated breakfast; including Mexican egg specialties. Experience dinner under the thatched roofs of La Loma. Our specialty buffets offer authentic Mexican foods and treats. Two bars; Casa Club and Aventura. Casa Club provides an open-air bar; with casual swings; pool table and plenty of seating for games and conversation. This is the late afternoon-evening social spot at Mahekal Beach Resort; where forever friendships are formed. Complimentary wireless internet access and television are available in Casa Club.
