About Pie de la Sierra

It?s a rural style hotel, at the Tarasca Sierra shores, with traditional Mexican-colonial accommodations, with wood, blue roller, concrete walls, and other rustic materials from the zone. The hotel was opened in 1968 and has been in constant growth and renovation, trying to combine the handcrafted and colorful richness with the comfort of a modern hotel. We also offer tranquility, ecotourism and cultural tourism nearby: the Sierra Purepecha churches.

The hotel is located only 15 minutes away from the city downtown and 10 minutes away from the main tourist attraction of Uruapan: The National Park. It?s also located on the road to Sierra Tarasca, from where half an hour away the Tarascas churches are found, a jewel of the Indian-colonial art. It?s also the route to Angaguan, where cars are left behind to go to an excursion to the Paricutin Volcano.
