USTKA is a Baltic Amber Resort. Our hotel is located in the heart of this resort. The wonderful therapeutic properties of amber have been known for ages. In ancient times it gained popularity thanks to its properties of attraction force which was then considered as supernatural power not as physical phenomenon. There were amuletes and jewelery made of amber especially protecting from diseases as well as there were made decorative objects in hope to keep young appearance. Archeological excavations have shown the pieces of amber under the skin of Egyptian mummies. There is no telling why they were there, we can only speculate that they were protecting the corpses from decomposing or scaring off evil powers. This is the proof of what an enormous power characterises this stone.
