Culture also takes pride of place notably due to the Roman ruins close to Cerva, in a village that is part of the national archaeological heritage. Alvi??o Nature Reserve was created in 1983. Although small in size, you might get as lucky as to watch the flight of the golden eagle, an endangered species. The park is home to many other species that are representative of Portuguese mountain areas.
