The hotel is located on Calea Victoriei one of the oldest roads in Bucharest. The building was built in 1886 by the plans of two known architects Mr. Enil Ritten Forster and I. I. Rasnovanu in German Renaissance style. The Grand Hotel Continental is about 1.6 km away from the Gara de Nord railway station and about 4.8 km from the Romexpo exibition centre of Bucharest. A bus station and an underground station are within walking distance.
