It is not only that all of the rooms have been decorated in an individual style with imagination, but they bear the personal stamp of the Russian owner, a former journalist and native of St.Petersburg, who has put his heart and his soul into an old building, that he bought as a ruin, and has transformed. If your image of St.Petersburg has been formed by reading Dostoevsky, Gogol and Tolstoy, then this is the hotel for you. The Alexander House is located on the Kryukov Canal Embankment, the area known locally as 'Bohemia', close to the Mariinsky Theatre and the Conservatory, in the private residence built in year 1826. In the hotel there are 19 comfortable rooms, lobby bar with 24 hours service, conference hall with library, spacious living room with fireplace, hall and summer garden. Every one of our 16 rooms is different, and has its own particular character. All of the rooms have heating in the winter, and air conditioner for the summer month
