Long, carefree talks and memorable occasions are complimented by hearty, traditional Karoo meals in the on-site a la carte restaurant Patat. Adding even more value is the conference and wedding venue - all set in a picture perfect landscape. Voorbedacht Farm is a working farm, which offers our Guests the unique opportunity to explore and experience the true essence of subsistence farming in Little Karoo. Among the various agricultural products farmed, we also farm livestock such as cattle, sheep and ostriches. Enjoy our exquisite warm summer days by relaxing next to the swimming pool whilst enjoying a refreshing beverage served from the bar. Accommodation includes 16 comfortable en-suite Guest rooms in the two original farmhouses. The Historical House -1865- has five enchanting rooms overlooking a fig orchard. The Main House offers 11 stylish rooms, with breathtaking panoramic mountain views from the open lounge. A further nine rooms are set in true Karoo style cottages, with a dreamy honeymoon suite to top it all. Its a mere 15km / 9.4 Miles drive to the top of the Swartberg Pass, offering breathtaking views of the Cango Valley. Swartberg Country Manor is the perfect venue from which many other places of interest can be accessed. Among these are the World-renowned Cango Caves -a must for any first-time visitor to the region. There is also the historical Gamkaskloof - or, as the locals call it, *Die Hel* -The Hell-. The Garden Route is equally accessible, with George only an hours drive away. The spectacular Swartberg Pass runs through the Swartberg mountains *Black Mountain in Afrikaans* which are a mountain range that runs roughly east-west along the northern edge of the semi-arid area called the Little Karoo in the Western Cape province of South Africa. The Swartberg is amongst the best exposed fold mountain chains in the World. The Pass runs between Oudtshoor in the South and Prince Albert in the North. The Pass is not tarred and can be a little treacherous after rain, but offers spectacular views over the Little Karoo to the South and the Great Karoo to the North. The plant life along the Pass is very interesting, many hundreds of species being found on the Swartberg.
