Kalix is a small town with about 17,000 inhabitants situated on the most northern shores of the Gulf of Bothnia and not far from the Finnish border. The Polar Circle is about 75km to the north. Just a few hundred meters from the town centre you can enjoy the view of the Kalix River which is one of the four still unexploited Swedish rivers. Kalix is called - the place where the river meets the sea - which indicates that we are at the absolute end of this 43 km long river. Kalix is also the origin of the world famous Kalix Caviar or Kalix Lojrom which is annually produced from late September to the beginning of November. Kalix is the regional centre for Medical Health Care and Schools. In the absolute centre of this town you will find our small and cosy hotel neighbouring to the new indoor mall of Kalix.
