About Hotel Alpina
The Hotel is a two star which welcomes children. It has 46 beds, large garden, a childs play area, a cosy restaurant and a lounge with television and video. In the summer there is a terrace restaurant which overlooks meadows. There is a bus stop in front of the hotel. In winter there is access to cross country ski fascilities.
This beautiful mountain village is 1200 metres above sea level. It is surrounded by imposing mountains and unspoilt landscape. This was formed by glaciers and volcanoes many thousands of years ago. Traces of glaciers can still be found. When the Li??tschbergtunnel was opened in 1913 the tiny village of Kandersteg became popular with tourists. Today 1200 people live in the village. It has 19 Hotels in the valley, seven in the mountains, 1000 beds in chalets and flats and 1500 beds in places for group bookings. In Kandersteg there is the International Scout centre for over than 1500 people. Good transport links make Kandersteg an excellent holiday centre.
