About Hotel Schweizerhof and Residence

The Hotel Schweizerhof lies at the heart of the traffic-free Zermatt resort on the Bahnhofstrasse. The station and Gornergratbahn Station are found just a few meters away. Guests from all over the world appreciate the joyful, rural and sportive atmosphere and lively, friendly hotel team. Tired souls recuperate in the pool and wellness areas and, the hotel comprises over 114 large, comfortable rooms & suites, some of which enjoy a view of the Matterhorn. Culinary delights are enjoyed in the Dining Room, Restaurant "Lanna Thai" offering exquisite Thai specialties, the Schwyzersti??bli with local dishes accompanied by Swiss folk music and the Prato Borni for cheese specialties. A choice of 6 additional restaurants is also available in the context of the Dine Around. In winter the Nico Kids-Club looks after young guests and 2 conference rooms for up to 90 persons is available.

Arrival takes place through the Vispertal, and Zermatt is located at the end of this valley. Trains bring guests directly to Zermatt and, whichever direction you are coming from, in Visp or Brig you change to the narrow-gauge railway - Matterhorn-Gotthard-Bahn. In one hour, this transports you through the rugged and romantic Vispertal to Zermatt. And through the NEAT Tunnel, Wallis is now only 72 minutes away! Zermatt is a traffic-free zone and Ti??sch (5km before Zermatt) is the end of the road for cars. From Ti??sch shuttle trains travel back and forth every 20 minutes and we recommend drivers to use our Welcome Parking here. On your arrival in Zermatt you will then be met with our electrotaxi that will escort you to the hotel.
