Since it was built in 1844, the Baur au Lac and its 120 rooms have been modernized at regular intervals to stay ahead of the demands of the international clientele. From beginning of July 2008 on 25 of the guest rooms have been converted to create 15 new suites and junior suites as well as 5 new deluxe double rooms. The Restaurant Pavillon is taking full advantage of the Baur au Lac s city center yet pastoral setting with views of the hotel s park and the waters of Lake Zurich. The adjacent outdoor Terrasse has also been transformed into a chic and informal indoor/outdoor space ideal for drinks, dining and people watching throughout the summer period.
