About Kirawira Camp
An exclusive and decadent tented camp with extraordinary views over Serengeti National Park. Kirawira Camp Western Serengeti recreates a Victorian safari station with the addition of modern comforts. It lies close to the Grumeti River and Western Corridor where you will find giant crocodiles and one million migrating wildebeest. Expect fabulous views from the sun terrace over a wide volcanic landscape. Inside you will discover an elegant colonial camp decorated with chintz, Persian rugs, antiques, a stained glass and mahogany bar and even a wind-up gramophone. Enjoy a glass of fine wine on your private veranda and then dine on delicious cuisine, cooked freshly for you every day by resident cooks. In the daytime, swim, have a massage, attend as many walking and driving safaris as you wish or take an excursion to Lake Victoria for sailing and fishing.
Kirawira Luxury Tented Camp is located adjacent to the famous Western corridor of the Sernegeti National Park. An ideal location to witness the annual migration of over one million wildebeest. These huge herds of wildebeest move north from East of Central Serengeti, Seronera in November, and by May moving in a series of columns, they seek fresh grazing and water in western corridor of the Serengeti. When the migration is not passing through the western corridor, the area still offers fantastic game viewing opportunities, with resident lion prides, leopard, an abundance of plains game as well as elephant and buffalo. The Grumeti river remains alive with hippo and crocodile throughout the year. The area is also a haven for resident and migrating bird species. Western Serengeti is 399kms from Arusha,110kms from Seronera Airstrip, and 16kms from Grumeti Airstrip, and transfers can be arranged either by road, or air.
