As the,New Dubai, is always in constant development, it can be noted new projects throughout the city as well as around the hotel such as buildings behind the Al Sufouh road as part of the Dubai Pearl development and the development of a hotel between the Palace and the Dubai Marina Club that should be completed by this summer. The Palm Island project after 7 years of development has now open welcomed its first resident. The buildings to the north of the resort are completed and the first owners have moved in. The,Gateway Bridge, to the Palm Island has been opened since last August and the first residents have taken possession of their villas, keys. Since August a three high-rise development at the entrance of the palm, adjoining to the Arabian Court is underway. 80Pct of the piling work is already completed with the remaining piling to be concluded by end April. While visual and noise disturbance may be felt, guests have occasionally mentioned their amazement at the incredible developments in all Dubai. We are overwhelmed by their resilience to return back to us, year after year, passing an array of other Dubai attractions, in favour of our facilities and genuine hospitality. Recorded guest satisfaction remains high with guests highlighting their wish to return to Dubai and the resort as such the repeat guest ratio over the festive holidays is above 40Pct. ,The Palm Jumeirah, project located nearby the Arabian Court, is in its fourth year of development and in terms of land reclamation is one hundred percent complete. Since December 2003 various building projects have started, including residential villas and the impressive,Gateway Bridge, leading to the island, which is well underway with the first views of the structure visible. The project has received a great deal of publicity recently with the vast majority of our guests being aware of the development prior to arrival. It is encouraging to note that although witnessing the extent of heavy vehicle movement to and from the island during the last four years, there is limited impact on most guests, desire to travel back to the resort.
