The Crown ? the second in a family of modern day coaching inns, all in timber framed buildings. Eating, Drinking, Lodgings. Located opposite the market hall in the ancient market town of Old Amersham, The Crown is an Elizabethan coaching inn with crooked floors, exposed beams and a surrounded courtyard which leads down through big gates to the high street. Hosting meetings of up to 40, The Crown has two rooms; the ?back room?, with inglenook fire, overlooking the cobbled courtyard and the Bailey Room, located in a separate building. There are snug corners and alternative rooms for break out options. The Crown has 40 bedrooms, all providing simple creature comforts: decent mattresses, pure cotton sheets, with extra Jakob?s wool blankets to make you feel at home and room sizes which range from bolthole to more spacious. Downstairs in the main inn, the restaurant and bar provide hearty, locally sourced food, served simply. The Crown is at the end of the Metropolitan line and 30 minutes drive from Heathrow airport with Wi-Fi throughout.
