The Magdalen Chapter sits centrally in Exeter neighbouring Southernhay the hotel lives within an iconic landmark Exeter building. Originally a Victorian Eye Hospital the striking building has been carefully restored and sympathetically extended to give a stunning new environment with glass fronted lounges and restaurant looking out onto the walled garden and outside pool. Over 5 floors each of the 59 bedrooms offers a unique experience. Many of the rooms have stunning views across the city and out to the Haldon hills. Each finished off with Egyptian cotton bed linen generous toiletries free wi-fi nespresso machines complimentary mini bar and for our guests i-pads in each room. The Restaurant features a theatre open kitchen with an open hearth oven opening out onto the terrace and landscaped walled garden. Menus are kept to simple seasonal and influenced by good cook and best-selling author Simon Hopkinson. Within the walled garden lies the Spa. Treatments are from award winning team REN. Guests can enjoy relaxing in the steam room before taking the plunge in our inside out swimming pool.
