About Lockerbie Manor Hotel

Lockerbie Manor is set in 78 acres of tranquil park and woodlands 22 miles north of Carlisle and 12 miles from Gretna Green on the M6 motorway. Built in 1814, this Georgian Manor House, has retained much of its traditional charm with ornate ceilings and a grand wood panelled master staircase. Recent refurbishment has reinstated and preserved many of the hotel's original features. Enjoy wonderful cuisine of a traditional nature in the Queensberry Dining Room, with its wood panelled walls, ornate chandeliers and magnificent views or relax in the elegant lounge with its original Adams fireplace amidst period furniture and enjoy the peace and quiet. Each of the individually decorated bedrooms offers a private bath/shower room and exude character. Relax and spoil yourself in one of the four poster suites and enjoy the stunning views over fields and woodlands from your window. Lockerbie Manor can cater for a wide range of functions, from intimate dinners for 20 guests, up to large parties of 150 guests. The hotel also has facilities to hold marquee functions for up to 300 guests within its extensive grounds. Lockerbie Manor was originally built in 1814 for Sir William Douglas and Dame Grace Johnstone and their famous great-grandson, John Sholto Douglas, the 8th Marquis of Queensberry, who was responsible for formulating the present day 'Queensberry' boxing rules, believed to have been completed in this house.
