About Cringletie House
Cringletie is a stunning baronial mansion, built in 1861. Nestled in 28 acres of own grounds, gardens and woodlands. All public rooms and bedrooms are individually designed to the highest possible standard. Log fires are in all public rooms. The restaurant with it's hand-painted ceiling serves culinary delights created by the award winning chef Paul Hart. All of the 14 bedrooms are individually designed and all have glorious views over the gardens and the rolling countryside. All have free high speed internet access, and a pc with internet access is available in the library. WIFI is available throughout. The 400 year old walled garden is something very special, reputed to be the oldest in Scotland it produces the vegetables for the kitchen. The hotel is fully wheelchair accessible and offers a dedicated disabled room, with all possible facilities.
Cringletie House is situated above Eddleston water just some 19 miles south of the Scottish capital Edinburgh and 2 miles north of the Royal Burgh of Peebles. Cringlitie's proximity to Edinburgh presents easy access to many attractions, such as Edinburgh Castle, numerous museums, the Royal Yacht Britannia, not to mention the Edinburgh festivals. The historic market town of Peebles lies in a picture book setting on the River Tweed. Flanked by the Meldon Hills, the Tweed and Glentress Forest, it is famed for it's buzzing town centre, the arts and crafts and the newly opened Eastgate Theatre.
