Built in 1854 as a private country retreat, Cedar Manor is set in mature walled gardens that are dominated by a 200 year old Cedar tree, giving the hotel a feeling of peace and seclusion that belies their location just outside the town centre.

Windermere is a popular destination for visits to the Lake District with its wealth of excellent shops, fine restaurants and bistros as well as pubs and bars. Many of the nearby activities can be reached with an easy walk, notably the nearby town of Bowness on Windermere, with its Marina that offers the ever popular lake cruises to Ambleside and Lakeside. There are an endless number of walks and scenic views to be enjoyed in this fantastic region of England, leaving visitors spoilt for choice.
