Providence is a city of universities, commerce, dining, and music. This compact city has the distinction of being the largest in Rhode Island and the second largest in New England. In recent years, Providence has flourished into a city with lots of reasons to visit. Come see why! One of the more interesting sites in Providence is the WaterFire located in Waterplace Park. From March to October, boaters dressed all in black tend fires on the Providence River. While you're in town, visit the Rhode Island State House, which has gorgeous architecture including a marble dome.
