About Martha Washington Hotel and Spa
A charming mountain escape in the Blue Ridge Mountains of southwest Virginia, the historic Martha Washington Hotel and Spa was originally built in 1832 as a private residence for a Virginia general. Throughout the years, it has also served as a finishing school for young women, a Civil War hospital, and a women's college, and it opened as a hotel in 1935, paying tribute to its historic legacy with gracious Southern hospitality and the genteel elegance of period antiques and furnishings. The hotel offers 51 guestrooms and 11 suites, each individually decorated with antiques and all the fine amenities and services expected from a luxury hotel.
