And one of the great things about a visit to Washington, D.C. is that much of it can be done on a very limited budget, with free museums, concerts and sites. With so much to do and explore, you won't want to miss this exciting destination. A trip to DC is incomplete without a visit to the big monuments, including the Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, Jefferson Memorial, and array of other tributes to great leaders and war veterans. Next stop is the National Mall, a patch of green grass that marks the cultural center of the city. Here you can go on a tour of the White House or sit in on a session of Congress. Along the mall, you will find a wide array of Smithsonian museums that are all free to the public. A little off of the mall, you can also explore Ford's Theater, site of Lincoln's assassination. In the evening, you'll want to stop by the Kennedy Center for a free concert every day of the year at 6pm. Washington DC is a fun city to visit with something for everyone.
