About Black Orchid Resort
Black Orchid is a jungle resort on the river without the hassle of a long bumpy road trip. All bedrooms and public rooms are spacious and well designed, prices are very reasonable and the excellent local hospitality is hard to beat. With 16 rooms and two individual villas the emphasis is on good food, convenient base for local adventure and cultural tours and within 15 minutes drive of the airport and main city. For nature lovers, howler monkeys, exotic birds and river animals are regular visitors to the property and sighting of the exlusive Jaguar and Tapir are not impossible. The resort offers its own tours, car rental, boat rental, pedalos, canoes and offers 4 meeting rooms of different sizes from 12 to 150.
The resort is built on the banks of the Belize River as it winds its way towards the coast. Lush verdant jungle is all around and includes up close experiences with the wildlife that abounds. The small village of Burrell Boom is a few minutes away and the river is home to numerous birds, crocodiles and rare animals who water or feed at the rivers edge. Belize City is a 20 minute drive and the International airport is only 15 minutes transfer.
