About Royal Palm Island
Royal Palm Island is an intimate escape from the ordinary. Ocean front beach design cottages that almost tip the waters edge offer privacy, space, comfort and ring side seating for the most amazing sunrise, sunset and for simply watching the many shades of blue and green of the endless Caribbean ocean in front. The resort is small and offers local hospitality in a discreet and friendly 'Belize easy' style. As well as an elevated ocean and island view restaurant there is an outdoor palapa for dining and with a bar; indoor a/c games room that doubles as a meeting room with giant screen, games and small bar; Indian spa offering treaments, jacuzzis and a private beach for outdoor treatments; gift shop, giant chess board and of course the small white sand beach with shallow water entry. Each Cottage has its own private shaded palapa, kayak and canoe.
Little Frenchman Caye (pronounced key) sits 8 miles due east of Belize City, 1 mile from the Barrier Reef and 1/4 mile from St Georges Caye which was Belizes capital until 1956. The barrier reef is the second longest unbroken barrier reed in the world and home to a host of marine surprises. Manatees, dolphins and other aquatic animals are often spotted around the island. From the restaurant at night a few twinkling lights of St Georges Caye can be seen and in the distance the glow of Belize City. The resort occupies the entire 2 and 1/2 acre island and there is plenty of space for everyone to feel that the island is theirs alone.
